The Sisters of Mercy of the
Holy Cross, imbued with the
spirit of St. Francis of
Assisi and inspired with
founders charism of
"compassionate love to all",
value the apostolate of
education a very effective
expression of the charism.
The motto of the
Congregation is "the need of
the time is the will of
God". Keeping the motto in
mind the sisters have
established centers in 13
states in India upto now,
responding to the
invitations of different
societies and organizations.
They serve the Nation in
various fields like, Formal
and Non-formal Education ,
Teachers training , Nursing
training, Social work,
vocational training
programmes, hospitals, care
of the old, widows, Orphans
and so on. In all these the
poor, oppressed and socially
less privileged are given
priority. We aim at forming
fully alive women and men,
who will live and work for
others and contribute to the
building up of just and
fraternal society.
Holy Cross School at Tadong,
was started in the year 1985
and it is owned by West
Bengal Holy Cross Sister
Society which is a
registered society under the
Societies Registration Act
1961. The School is
affiliated with the Central
Board of Secondary Education
(CBSE), New Delhi upto
Senior Secondary Standard.
The medium of instruction is
English.
The School promotes
co-education and it admits
any child irrespective of
caste, creed or social
status. Holy Cross School
receives no Government or
private aid and fees
realized from students is
the only source of revenue.
To keep up with the raising
costs and revision in
salary, fees have to be
adjusted from time to time.
The school session is from
February to December.
All students are taught the
essentials of religion which
are acceptable to people of
all faiths and efforts are
made continually to develop
and draw out values in the
life of all students.
